Flu Alert: A Campaign Emphasizing Importance of Vaccination in Adults 65 & Older
NOV 01, 2017 | CONTAGION® EDITORIAL STAFF
William Schaffner, MD, discusses NFID and Sanofi Pasteur’s Flu Alert campaign, dedicated to emphasizing the importance of vaccination in adults aged 65 and older.
Interview Transcript (modified slightly for readability):
"It’s wonderful to say that the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases and Sanofi Pasteur are working on a campaign called Flu Alert in order to emphasize the importance of influenza in people aged 65 and older and the importance, therefore, of vaccinating that population. It also lets people know that there are vaccines that are license-formulated specifically for the population aged 65 and older. And if we can get the word out, we hope that people will ask their health care provider if those vaccines are right for them."
