Interview Transcript (modified slightly for readability):
“There’s a few parts to that. I think in fundraising, collaboration is everything. The more that we can create a unified message, and fundraise for a unified goal, then we will be able to garner more funds to be able to put money towards what we need in order to implement programs in the innovative ways that we want to. I think the opportunity to fundraise has become challenging because there are a lot of people that want to do good in the world. We just have to connect them so that we are not fundraising in our own little silos, and [instead] we are fundraising on a global platform, together, as one.
Being able to fundraise through transparency and collaboration, I think, is the important message to be sent to the world. We need to be comfortable sharing information, and we need to understand that there are a lot of organizations around the world that are here to create the end of HIV and AIDS. We are all dedicated to the same end-goal. And, so, there is no reason why we shouldn’t be working, on a day-to-day basis, together, to make sure that we garner the right funds to achieve our work and achieve our goals.”
