William Schaffner, MD, medical director for the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases’ (NFID) and infectious disease physician at Vanderbilt, provides a brief overview of the past flu season (2016-2017), which he describes as a “moderately severe season.” Dr. Schaffner notes that older adults were particularly affected by the virus.
