Founded as part of the free clinic movement in 1971, Fenway was a free drop-in clinic providing free blood pressure checks and STD screenings which quickly developed into a freestanding health center. Fenway currently employs a staff of more than 500 that provide care and services to more than 29,500 patients across three clinical locations. The mission of Fenway Health is to enhance the well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and all people in their neighborhoods and beyond through access to the highest quality health care, education, research, and advocacy.

The SAP program is designed to facilitate an open exchange of medical and scientific innovations and information among trusted peers, with the goal of improving patient care. SAP topics will include best practices related to practice management strategies and treatment decisions.
