Bumble Bee recall information

The recall comes after commercial sterilization process deviations occurred in a co-pack facility that is not owned or operated by the company. These deviations could result in contamination of the product by spoilage organisms or pathogens that could lead to life-threatening illnesses if consumed.

At this time there have not been any reports of illness associated with these products.

A total of 31,579 cases of tuna are included in this recall. The cans were produced in February 2016 and marked with the can code “T” (example: TOA2BSCAFB). More information on the specific can codes can be found at the Bumble Bee Foods, LLC website.

Bumble Bee is working closely with the co-packer and the FDA to expedite the removal of these products from the market.

The FDA advises that all consumers should throw away the recalled product.

Any consumers who are looking for more information on product reimbursement or have questions about the recall should contact Bumble Bee at (888) 820-1947 between the hours of 9am and 6pm EST seven days a week or visit www.bumblebee.com/recall-march-2016.
