Contagion® announces the appointment of its 2019 section editors for the print publication

These medical professionals will work alongside the editorial staff of Contagion® to deliver timely information about recent medical developments and research to the evolving infectious disease community.

Jason Gallagher, Pharm.D., FCCP, FIDSA, BCPS; Editor in Chief

Gallagher currently serves as a clinical professor at Temple University School of Pharmacy and is a clinical pharmacy specialist in infectious diseases at Temple University Hospital. He is also the director of the PGY2 Residency in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Program at Temple.

Monica V. Mahoney, Pharm.D., BCPS-AQ ID, BCIDP; In the Literature

Mahoney serves as the clinical pharmacy coordinator of infectious diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She is also a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and actively involved in the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), and the Massachusetts Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP).

Jason J. Schafer, Pharm.D., M.P.H., BCPS-AQ ID, BCIDP, AAHIVP; HIV

Schafer is an associate professor of pharmacy practice at the Jefferson College of Pharmacy and a clinical pharmacy specialist in HIV Ambulatory Care at the Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is board-certified in pharmacotherapy and infectious diseases (BCPS and BCIDP) and certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) as a practicing HIV pharmacist (AAHIVP).

Wendy M. Bamberg, M.D., Emerging/Re-Emerging Infections

Bamberg serves as a medical epidemiologist and Health Care-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance program manager at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. She is also board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases.

Ryan K. Shields, Pharm.D., M.S.; Multidrug-Resistant Infections

Shields serves as an associate professor in the department of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. He is a clinical pharmacist in infectious diseases at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and directs a research laboratory to study antimicrobial resistance.

Conan MacDougall, Pharm.D., M.A.S., BCPS, BCIDP; Stewardship & Prevention

MacDougall serves as a professor of clinical pharmacy in the department of clinical pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco. He also provides clinical service to the Infectious Diseases Consult Service and Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at UCSF Medical Center.

Sara K. Schultz, M.D., Case Studies

Schultz is an assistant professor of medicine in the division of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine at Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She also serves as Associate Program Director for the ID Fellowship at Drexel. Her research interests are in sexually transmitted disease prevention and clinical skills education. She is board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease.
