In the United States the coronavirus death toll is approaching 11,000. This week is expected to be the most severe week thus far in the US.

There are now more than 1.3 million cases worldwide and more than 368,000 cases in the United States.

In political news, Wisconsin will hold its primary election today as scheduled despite concerns related to coronavirus and social distancing. In the UK it has been reported that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is in intensive care after his coronavirus symptoms worsened.

Can the United States crush coronavirus by June 6th? According to Dr. Harvey Fineberg’s new editorial in the New England Journal of Medicine the US can eradicate the viral disease over the next 10 weeks through a forceful and focused campaign.
