Viviane Boaventura, MD, MsC, PhD, researcher, Fiocruz-Bahia, Gonçalo Moniz Institute, Brazil, describes a past study she conducted with her team that demonstrated that adults can experience Zika-associated hearing loss. Dr. Boaventura shared that while the adults experienced hearing loss during infection, they recovered their auditory capabilities post-infection.
