Contagion®, the nation’s leading multimedia resource dedicated to providing up-to-date, disease-specific information to health care practitioners and specialists in the field of infectious diseases, announces the addition of Making A Difference in Infectious Diseases (MAD-ID®) to its Strategic Alliance Partnership (SAP) program.

“We are very excited to be partnering with the MAD-ID® organization,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of MJH Associates, Inc., parent company of Contagion®. “It is a pleasure to be working with the organization to help them provide education to professionals in the field of infectious diseases.”

MAD-ID® is a nonprofit organization that offers a wealth of educational opportunities in the areas of infectious diseases prevention, management, and antimicrobial stewardship. Educational initiatives and content are determined by a 10-member scientific committee composed of infectious diseases experts from clinical pharmacy, medicine, and nursing, and based upon ongoing needs assessments. Each year, MAD-ID® hosts its annual meeting, as well as several other regional programs highlighting advances in infectious diseases therapy and antibiotic stewardship training.

“MAD-ID® is excited about its Strategic Alliance Partnership with Contagion®, as both groups share a common strategic goal to inform and educate health care professionals with the latest information on infectious diseases,” said Michael J. Rybak, PharmD, MPH, PhD, senior vice president of MAD-ID’s Board of Directors. “The MAD-ID® organization and its expertise in antimicrobial therapeutics and stewardship will compliment and expand Contagion®’s growing network of infectious diseases experts continuing to bring high quality content to the health care professional audience.”

The Contagion® SAP program builds a community of advocacy groups, medical associations, and medical institutions fostering collaboration and an open exchange of information for the ultimate benefit of patients and their families. As part of this joint effort, Contagion® will work with MAD-ID® to share exclusive clinical content and help educate health care professionals concerning prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. The SAP program is designed to facilitate an open exchange of information among trusted peers, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care.
