Interview Transcript (slightly modified for readability)

“We [as infectious disease pharmacists], by nature, are a data-driven group. We like to reference studies and literature to make any decision on our patient and unfortunately, we don’t have that data in this specific patient group.

Stewardship has been a hot topic for the past couple of years, but specifically focusing on their transplant patient, we don’t have as robust data in that population. And so, we have to rely on either smaller case series or case studies, or just a collaboration discussion with our surgeons, our microbiologists, in trying to come up with an optimal treatment plan for that patient.”
