A voluntarily recall of 2.25 oz and 4 oz packages of Diamond of California Macadamia Nuts has been initiated after a sample tested positive for Salmonella contamination.
A voluntarily recall of 2.25 oz and 4 oz packages of Diamond of California Macadamia Nuts has been initiated after a sample tested positive for Salmonella contamination. A US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) contracted laboratory returned the results to Snyder’s-Lance, Inc who distributes the product in retail stores nationwide. There have been no reported illnesses to date.
Healthy individuals who are infected with Salmonella “often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.” If individuals have consumed any of the products indicated in the recall and experience any of these symptoms, they should see a healthcare professional immediately.

The recalled nuts may not look or smell bad even if they are contaminated with Salmonella.
In a statement from the company, Snyder’s-Lance, Inc. said, “The quality and safety of our products is the top priority for our company. We apologize to our retail customers and consumers and sincerely regret any inconvenience. We are working and cooperating fully with the U. S. Food & Drug Administration on this voluntary recall.”
