Silvia Munoz-Price, MD, PhD, associate professor of clinical medicine at the Institute for Health and Society, Medical College of Wisconsin, and enterprise epidemiologist for Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, explains the different elements that should be incorporated into training programs for hospital epidemiologists that would allow them to excel in infection control practices. Dr. Munoz-Price stresses that teaching leadership skills is important; it will enable these individuals to interact with individuals from several departments to ensure quality infection control.
