Silvia Munoz-Price, MD, PhD, associate professor of clinical medicine at the Institute for Health and Society, Medical College of Wisconsin, and enterprise epidemiologist for Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, explains how the undefined role of a hospital epidemiologist can be problematic. One reason that Dr. Munoz-Price points out has to do with bundles. She notes that although bundles have been very effective in reducing countless infections, they essentially reduce the field of hospital epidemiology to just bundle implementation.
